flash games vs. Java Games

Flash games look cooler.
Which is faster?

From what I've seen I would say Java games would be faster in general most Flash games use vector graphics. But if both are using all raster graphics, then I have no idea. Actually, I think Java is still probably faster. But that's just experience.
